Welcome to my world of Fresco Painting
One of a Kind Originals.
Fresco is an ancient technique of applying pigments on fresh plaster, either as wall murals, on ceilings or just plain on wood. I use primarily recycled doors as canvases for my paintings. The wood gets primed, joint compounded and then the fresco is applied. I work with a traditional home-made fresco recipe. Trowels and a variety of tools create a base texture. Found objects can be embedded in the wet fresh fresco mixture. My colors are bright and happy. I start painting with oil washes and natural pigments. Later I add acrylics for an opaque contrast and finish with shiny enamels. The paintings get sealed with either an acrylic resin for a high gloss or an exterior stone sealer for a matte finish.
One of a kind pieces are just that, they are a one time original idea that may be theme related, but not repeated or fitted like a multiple. No two pieces are alike.
